Dr. Morris E. Brown ,III, MD, FAAFP
Morris Edward Brown, III, MD is the medical director of Lake City Family Medicine, LLC and Family Medicine Associates, LLC. He is married to Bonnilyn and has five children, three daughters: Carolyn, Kayla, and Carine and two sons, Morris IV and Austin. He also has four grandsons. He received his doctorate degree with distinction from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. He also has a B.S in Chemistry (Magna Cum laude) which he received from Norfolk State University in Norfolk, VA. He completed his residency training at Portsmouth Family Medicine Residency, Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine in Portsmouth, VA.
Mrs. Shafara Dozier Douglas, PA-C
Shafara Dozier Douglas is a family medicine PA who has been with Lake City Family Medicine for nine years. Shafara graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Norfolk State University in 2004. She earned her Physician Assistant degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2008. As a native of Kingstree, she understands first hand the disparities of healthcare in rural South Carolina. She returned to her community to aid in providing quality healthcare. She strives to provide compassionate, collaborative and comprehensive care, where the patient comes first. She believes open communication and mutual respect are key to building relationships with patients that lead to advancing health and well being.
Dr. Aquanetta L. Nesbitt, DMP, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Dr. Aquanetta L. Nesbitt, DNP, MSN, APRN, FNP-C is a native of Lake City, SC, and a 1995 graduate of Lake City High School. She is a Family Nurse Practitioner, board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and licensed by the state of South Carolina to provide family-centered healthcare to individuals of all ages. Her scope of practice incorporates health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, and management along with evaluation and treatment of common, acute, complex, and chronic health care issues from childhood throughout the aging process.
Aquanetta began her career as a certified nursing assistant in 1998 at Lake City Scranton Nursing Home. In 2001, she pursued her Associates Degree of Nursing from Central Carolina Technical College. After receiving her RN degree, she worked for McLeod Regional Medical Center as a staff nurse for 7 years and as a supervisor for the outpatient Cancer Center for a total of 9 years. Aquanetta has an exceptional academic background that includes a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix, located in Temple, Arizona, in 2007 and a Master’s Degree of Science in Nursing from South University’s Nurse Practitioner Program in Savannah, Georgia in 2017. In total, she has accumulated over 16 years of nursing experience which includes areas such as Medical Surgical, Oncology, Travel Nursing, and Hospice.
She is an active member of the American Nurses Association and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Aquanetta has an exceptional combination of strong nursing skills and strives to provide holistic, quality health care to all individuals. Her belief and goal are to encourage and form long-lasting, trusting relationships with patients and families of the community.
